A pair of large French Empire period painted tole wall lights








A pair of large French Empire period painted and gilt tole oil wall lights " à quinquet " on a black background  of fine quality, representing the heads of antiques warriors ( Mars and Minerva ) , the tole shades in the shape of shields.

Paris, circa 1810 .

In excellent and original condition ( the two small glass oil containers missing).

Height 56 cm ( 22 inches ) x width 16 cm ( 51/2 inches ) x depth 24 cm ( 9 1/2 inches )
