A Venetian torchere of an oriental lady






A fanciful mid-19th century Venetian polychrome and parcel gilt wood torchere or stand of an Oriental lady wearing a gilded theatrical costume and holding a circular painted tray on her head.

Possibly by Pauly, circa 1850 - 1860 .

Height 88 cm ( 34 1/2 inches ) x width 48 cm ( 19 inches ) x depth 40 cm ( 16 inches )
